RING SLING FAQ
Can I use ring sling to carry a newborn?
Yes you can. Ring sling has no limitation in size adjustment hence why it is suitable for newborn.
When using the ring sling, should I carry baby in cradle or upright position?
Cradle carry position is alright when done snugly and it usually requires 1 hand supporting baby's neck. However, if you carry baby in upright position, you can have both hands free with many more benefits, such as:
- Healthy development of spine and hips
- Reduce colic and reflux
- Improves baby's core strength
- Baby can hear parent's heart beat better (the safe sound they hear since in womb)
Can I use the ring sling to carry toddlers?
Yes, you can use the ring sling to carry your toddler. Usually as your child gets heavier, you will need to invest in a thicker material for better support and comfort.
Why do I feel like my baby is sliding downwards when carried in the ring sling?
When the ring sling is not worn snugly with a proper seat under baby's bottom, you will feel like baby is sliding downwards. Hence why you feel the need to place your hand under baby's bum.
My neck hurts after carrying baby in a ring sling for a short while. Why?
The material on your shoulder is gathered too much on your neck, that's why. You need to spread the material across the shoulder so that the weight will spread too.
Why does the material keep falling off my shoulder?
If you are using a gathered shoulder ring sling, it is possible the material to fall off your shoulder. You can counter it by folding some of the material up your shoulder. Imaging cup sleeves.
