Posted by Blue Heart Ventures Pte Ltd on

Sumi gets candid about her pregnancy and the experiences she had throughout. Sumi and Vijay did In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) to get Arjun in their lives. At the early stages of her pregnancy, Sumi had a bleeding scare but when she went to the hospital, doctors could not give her a reason for her bleeding.

Being cautious, her parents decided to bring Sumi back to stay with them. During her pregnancy, she developed Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD). Doula Fadlila explained that it is when there is a separation of the front of the pelvis. This made it extremely difficult for Sumi to even move at times.

After going for her gestational diabetes (GD) test, she was not surprised that she failed as she not only had Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), her dad has diabetes as well .Gestational diabetes is diabetes diagnosed for the first time during pregnancy. Gestational diabetes affects how your cells use sugars (glucose), just like other types of diabetes. Gestational diabetes causes high blood sugar that can affect your pregnancy and your baby's health.

Although she was on a very healthy diet, her diabetes level was still not on track. Sumi wanted to do whatever she could to maintain her sugar levels. She went for regular walks with her family and controlled her cravings!

Find out what Sumi had to go through. Click here to listen and have a laugh with Sumi as she remembers funny details during her labour!
